You can believe in anything. In God, in Santa Claus, in Mrs. Holle, in the good in people and in fireflies.

They are mind games. You are an adult and you know: I imagine it, but I find the thought graceful. I find it nice to dwell on this mind game.

That’s what it’s all about. The Blink is a mind game that you can feel comfortable with. No more and no less.

Belief in the blink presupposes two basic principles:

1. the belief in fireflies

2. The Belief in the Glow of Fireflies

Luciferins (derived from the Latin lucifer ‚bringing light‘) are different natural substances that are used in various bioluminescent organisms to produce light.

They react with oxygen (oxidation) through the catalytic activity of the corresponding luciferase enzyme. During the change, usually the cleavage of subgroups on the luciferin, energy is released in the form of light.

Both luciferins and luciferases are species- or taxon-specific, i.e. they are characteristic of each group of organisms.

As soon as the believer recognizes these two basic principles of faith as true, he can call himself a confessor of the „blink“.

There are no other rules of faith.

In deutscher Sprache

Du kannst an alles glauben. An Gott, an den Weihnachtsmann, an Frau Holle, an das Gute im Menschen, und an die Glühwürmchen.

Es sind Gedankenspiele. Du bist erwachsen und Du weißt: Ich stelle es mir vor, aber ich finde den Gedanken anmutig. Ich finde es schön, mich in diesem gedankenspiel aufzuhalten.

Darum geht es. Der Blink ist ein Gedankenspiel, bei dem Du Dich wohlfühlen kannst. Nicht mehr und auch nicht weniger.

Der Glaube an den Blink setzt zwei Grundprinzipien voraus:

2. Der Glaube an das Leuchten der Glühwürmchen

Luciferine (abgeleitet von lateinisch lucifer ‚Licht bringend‘) sind unterschiedliche Naturstoffe, die in verschiedenen biolumineszenten Organismen zur Erzeugung von Licht genutzt werden.

Durch katalytische Aktivität des entsprechenden Luciferase-Enzyms reagieren sie mit Sauerstoff (Oxidation). Bei der Veränderung, meistens der Abspaltung von Teilgruppen an dem Luciferin, wird Energie in Form von Licht abgegeben.

Sowohl Luciferine als auch Luciferasen sind art- oder taxonspezifisch, also für jede Lebewesengruppe kennzeichnend.

Sobald der Gläubige diese beiden Grundprinzipien des Glaubens als wahr anerkennt, kann er sich als Bekennender des „Blinks“ bezeichnen.

Weitere Glaubensregeln gibt es nicht.
